Fishing report for 04/11/25

Well mother nature seems to be mad at us as of late, but the days she feels a little better we benefit. Temps are on the rise (most days) and water temps are following. Rain has been a big issue as well as the wind but it cannot last forever. Now onto the exciting fishing report for this week.
Biggest story in my honest opinion is tog. Normally around Ocean City we have the big issue of mass temperature fluctuation. With that it really pushes our tog fishing back till at least mid month or close to the end of the month. This year however is way different, even with cool water the tog have showed up HEAVY and they are making their appearance known. Started a little slow but within a couple days it seemed to have blown up. They came off the wrecks and reefs fast and hungry and made their push into the bay. Corson's inlet had an insane amount of keeper tog caught over the weekend mainly on green crab. 9th street piers are producing pretty well but more shorts. Longport pier as well as long port jetty have had pretty decent action. 50/50 on bait, clam and green crab have been both catching.
Striper have started pushing farther and farther into the bays. Daytime river action has still been hot on bloods and clam. Intercoastal waterways are the highway for striper, that being said they have seemed to hit a little gridlock in holes especially on the backwaters on the way to Corson's. With that the fish have made it to the inlets. Day and night have been producing especially on soft plastics, Plugs in the dark. Piers have had fish as well daytime more bait and nighttime more plastics.
White perch has still been hot and heavy. By far some of the best perch action in the past few years. Some of the biggest perch i have ever seen and in numbers. Bloods and grass shrimp (if you can find them) are best. Shout out to Captain Frank Breakell of Brynnie-b Charters for sending me the only fish we caught the other night in absolutely freezing and howling conditions. He got lucky and i admit defeat! Thanks Frank! Frank does land based and boat based charters, give him a call for a great educational time!!! (609) 425-9401
