Fishing report for 02/27/23

Striper opening day is almost upon us! After 2 months of painful waiting we only have a couple days left. This winter never really got cold, which is going to be extremely beneficial. Water temp has been consistently hovering around 45 degrees which has kept striper extremely active over the winter months. They are  hungry and more aggressive then normal years.

Perch is still the biggest thing going. Perch fishing is completely on fire. Bloods, shrimp & small minnows are still the ticket. I went out with two friends of mine the other day and even with flood tides the perch were still active mostly on shrimp. Bloods seemed to get striper into a frenzy. Multiple bass were caught from 16-26 inches with a couple bigger fish hooked up. The bigger fish all hit the light perch tackle and ultra light rods which ended in losing fish over 30lbs in FEBRUARY! If that's a sign of what to come, I cannot wait to see  how this spring turns out!

We will be closed until March 9th at 9:00am due to the Atlantic City Boat Show. Stop on by and say hi at our booth (P18). Also feel free to try one of our kayaks in the pool.
